RIPOFF!!!

I just got a benefit statement from the insurance saying that we owe the doc 107 dollars for "surgery" that Caroline received at her 2 week check-up. She did not receive any surgery.
So I called the doctors office to see what was going on and was told that was the charge for the silver nitrate that they applied to her cord to help it fall off sooner.

1 q-tip with silver nitrate on it + 30 seconds of a nurses time = 107 dollars for something that would have eventually happened on its own.

Ripoff.

Call the doctor and negotiate a lower price. That is absurd. Did you expressly consent to this procedure? If not then you have a really good argument.
