movin on up...

I think pretty much everyone who reads this already knows, but I'll say it again. We are moving!!!! Iffy took a job at Bandelier National Monument.

Here are a list of things, in no particular order, that I am pretty damn excited about:
  • The Art Center at Fuller Lodge. They appear to have no stained glass artists represented. They need one. I am her.

  • The YMCA in Los Alamos. They have free child care while you exercise. Can you say INCENTIVE to get my ass in gear? Rowing machines and yoga, here I come!

  • An awesome swimming pool.

  • An ice rink, outdoor, so only functional in ice rink conducive months, but still...

  • No Walmart in Los Alamos

  • There is a Starbucks and other various coffe shop type places.

  • We will be 90 miles from our cabin

  • The schools are great!! There are 4 elementary schools, three are rated 10/10, one is 9/10.

  • Santa Fe is only 40 miles away and it's got good grocery stores, museums, an airport etc etc...

  • Albuquerque is only 100 miles and it's got everything, plus friends!

  • We can take our kids to a pediatrician that is 12 miles away, not 230 miles.

  • We will no longer burn a whole day going grocery shopping. Seriously. A trip to the grocery store should be a hour long event, not an all day affair.

  • There is an Indian grocery store in Santa Fe

  • There is a Mediterranean restaraunt in Los Alamos, and probably more varieties as well

and many more.

The housing situation worked out well too. We will be getting a two bedroom with a "den" Not quite sure what that will look like, but at least there is a little extra room. There will be a shed outside for the garage stuff, and the rent is affordable. It will be only about 2/3 the size of the house we are in now, but we can work with it. It's a good move and well worth the downsized housing.
p.s while I was writing this Iffy just got off the phone with a woman who wants to buy the RV!!

Yay!! There is also a Trader Joe's in both Santa Fe and Abq, and Jackalope, my favorite store ever! In Albuquerque there is also this grocery store that sells all types of world foods. Isn't civilization exciting?
